Ms. Crystal Tan

Executive Principal of Mosaic Preschool – M.Sc.ECCE, BSECE-L, DECCE-L (Diploma with Merit)

Ms. Crystal Tan has been working actively with educators, children and families for more than a decade. She has an extensive knowledge of the Early Childhood field, as well as vast experience working in both local and international preschool environments.

Crystal found her calling to work with young children while she was volunteering in a Family Service Centre for under-privileged preschoolers. Through this experience, she realized the importance of a quality education and a strong partnership between the school and home setting, could influence a young child’s enthusiasm and love for life-long learning. Crystal is also a strong advocate for play-based learning and believes children should learn through fun, meaningful and creative experiences.

Crystal followed her passion and obtained her Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching and Leadership from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. She graduated with a Merit and worked with an international school upon graduation. To equip herself with the knowledge and skills to be a better educator and leader in the field, Crystal went on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Leadership from Wheelock College. She was awarded with a scholarship by NTUC Childcare Co-operative Ltd for her passion and dedication for the field. Crystal believes in life-long learning and staying abreast of changes and practices in the Early Childhood Field. She has recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University.

In Mosaic Preschool, Crystal provides strategic direction in the school system. Asides from overseeing the school’s operation needs, she sees herself as a supportive friend to her fellow colleagues as well as to the parents. Adopting the belief of an old African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child”, Crystal believes Mosaic Preschool’s comprehensive and unique curriculum along with the partnership with families and communities, is the best place to nurture children to become confident, respectful and successful individuals.
